The emotions that fueled my music began to distance me from the core of humanity, shaped as we are by the personas of today's world. Humanity and the concrete jungles we inhabit are in dire need of repair. With this album, I sought to empathize with the animals living in true forests, attempting to convey their feelings, experiences, and dilemmas.
For instance, a lobster, overcome by the scorching seaside heat, drifts into another realm, only to awaken questioning its own reality.
Or an elephant, much like a human, that starts to fear loneliness after losing its companion.
Or the bad habits of a rabbit—what could those be? Carrots? Can animals, just like humans, become estranged from their own kind?
As for the musical structure, the compositions feature trumpet, piano, electric guitar, bass, and drums, blending jazz, electronic, ethnic, and rock elements. Progressive rhythmic patterns intertwine with melodic lines.
In this album, we hear Onurcan Çağatay, who has been infusing soul into the trumpet since 2020; Ozan Deniz Akkuş, who channels the subtleties of his heart into melodies on the electric guitar; Eylül Soylu, whose bass playing is as solid as an elephant yet as free as a bird; and Ali Can Öztan, our drummer, steady as a captain who never lets water seep into the ship.
Finally, special thanks to Ahmet Özgül for skillfully manning the recording console at ASC Music Studios, where we recorded this album live; to Yamaç Telli, the sixth member of our team, for his expert mixing and mastering; and to Melisa Dalkılıç for the album cover and animations.
Humanity's resistance to mental evolution is still a puzzling concept. It's utopic to expect that people who are not yet aware of the responsibilities that they have each other will be responsible towards nature, which is the sole source for their existence.
"Love must be reinvented" as Rimbaud says, and I say that human must be reinvented, because nature's grief won't be as quiet as ours.
